Before founding the company, Rick spent years inside the industry — learning what retail banks can't do, where big brokerages cut corners, and why so many borrowers walk away from their closing feeling burned. He built Underwood as the opposite of all that.
He holds degrees in communications and psychology, is licensed in California, and has partnered with industry think-tanks including The Mortgage Market Guide and The Mortgage Coach. He's active in the Yorba Linda community — the local Little League, the YMCA, and his church.
